July 2024 Dear Parents/Guardians,

Wells Elementary School is a K-4 school serving approximately 560 students from Wells and Ogunquit.  Teachers work together on teams to enhance the achievement of students.  Students begin their elementary years participating in one of our kindergarten classes.   We pride ourselves on a strong commitment to academic excellence and flexibility in meeting the individual needs of students within a safe, bully-free atmosphere.

This handbook is designed to let you know about the programs and services available at WES and is available on our school website (http://wes.k12wocsd.net). Students and parents/guardians are responsible for reading and following the rules in this handbook.  This handbook has been developed within the framework of the Wells-Ogunquit CSD School Committee Policy Manual.  In case of a conflict between a School Committee policy and the rules in this handbook, the School Committee policy will prevail.  You may review a copy of the policy manual in any school office or on the district website.  If you have any questions about this handbook, please call us.

We encourage you to take part in your child’s education both at home and through your active involvement with the school. We ask you to share with us your hopes and dreams for your child as well as any pertinent information regarding his/her strengths and needs.  A strong home/school partnership is a proven means of ensuring your child’s success.  Our School-Family Compact describes the responsibilities of this partnership. A copy of this compact can be located on our school website.

We are looking forward to joining you and your children in a journey of learning during the 2024-2025 school-year.

Sincerely,

Kyle Burnell, Principal

Theresa Curran, Assistant Principal
