Dear WES Families:
I hope everyone has been enjoying the summer vacation to this point! While the weather hasn’t been entirely cooperative this summer, my own family has been busy with all sorts of activities. My sons, who will be entering first and third grade here at WES this fall, are obsessed with baseball. We’ve seen dozens of games this summer and spent countless hours practicing in the backyard. I hope you and your children have had similar opportunities to spend time together doing things that are equally meaningful to your family.
I know we still have a few weeks left of summer vacation, but as we start to transition through the end of summer vacation I want to welcome everyone to the start of the 2023-2024 school year. While I hope everyone enjoys every last minute of summer vacation, I am personally very excited to have students back in WES! We have an amazing school community and I can’t wait to have our hallways and classrooms full of kids once again!

Arrival and Dismissal
For those of you who had WES students last year, you will find that this year’s process is very similar to the one we utilized throughout the 2022-2023 school year. Please understand that the first few days of school always take the longest for arrival and dismissal. The process will run more quickly as our students, parents, and staff gain more experience with the system. During the first few days of school it is particularly important to exercise patience as we work to safely and efficiently get our students into and out of the building at the beginning and end of the day!
I am excited for the beginning of the new school year and look forward to seeing all the kids when they return in a few weeks! On behalf of the entire staff, welcome back! If you have any questions regarding the start of the 2023-2024 school year, please call our office at 646-5953.
Sincerely,
Kyle Burnell, Principal
