School Resource Officer

The Wells Ogunquit community is fortunate to have full time police officers who are dedicated to serving our children. This past year both towns approved the appointment of two additional resource officers to allow for one resource officer per building. The resource officer is visible in throughout the day, works closely with administrators and families on a variety of issues, such as safety, truancy and student education. During the school year the instruct students in areas which include, but are not limited to: Halloween safety, bike safety, home safety, internet safety, stranger-danger, etc. A primary goal of this position is to teach children to become familiar and comfortable interacting with law enforcement.

The School Resource Officer is a state certified child safety seat technician. If any parent/guardian has any questions or would like support in this area, please feel free to contact him.

WES Billboard (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday E-Mail Announcements)

Every Wednesday (PTSA Notices), Thursday (School District Notices), and Friday (General Notices), Wells Elementary School communicates a wide variety of important information and notices to parents/guardians via e-mail notification with the web link where notices are posted. This paperless process is used as an effort to conserve paper, save money and increase our communication in a timely and efficient manner. Please review all information posted each week. These documents can also be found starting at the district website, http://www.k12wocsd.net/. Once you reach the district site, click on “Wells Elementary School.” When you reach the Wells Elementary School site, click on “WES Informational Billboard” on the left side of the webpage. This will lead you to important school information that you can view or print out at home.

A notice is forwarded to all new families at the time of registration, requesting family e-mail addresses. E-mail address information will not be given out to anyone else and will be used for the sole purpose of creating a list for school-wide mailings. If your e-mail address changes throughout the course of the school year, we would kindly request that you inform our office as soon as possible, to ensure that you continue receiving this important weekly information.

If you don’t have access to a computer, you may request that weekly notices are forwarded to you by paper copy. Paper copies of all WES Billboard notices will be sent home with your child. If you have any questions about this process, please don’t hesitate to contact our office.
